After more than a year on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Mexico Museum of Space History is bringing back Launch Pad Lecture series.

At 9 a.m. on Nov. 5, on the New Mexico Museum of Space History's second floor, the first Launch Pad Lecture titled “Where No Man Has Gone Before: 55 Years of Star Trek” will be led by New Mexico Museum of Space History Executive Director Chris Orwoll.

The lecture will be about Gene Roddenberry's "Star Trek: The Original Series", its creation and legacy.

The Launch Pad Lecture series is free and open to the public.

"The original series, first airing in 1966, spawned a plethora of spin-off television shows, feature length films, books, comics, and even museum exhibits," a New Mexico Museum of Space History news release states.

"Orwoll will look at the continuing fascination with the world of Star Trek and even preview the museum’s new Sci-Fi/Sci-Fact exhibit that will incorporate elements of Rodenberry’s vision of a better future."
